Quai de la Borde
2016 - Ris-Orangis, France

Construction of 140 aparments with a Cross Laminated Timber structure

Quai de la Borde, Ris-Orangis (91)

Located on what was formerly derelict industrial land on the banks of the River Seine, in the district around the Docks of Ris-Orangis, the programme envisaging the construction of 140 apartments was the start of a new generation of buildings with low carbon footprints.

Four floors high and 150 metres long, the building Quai de la Borde designed by architectural firm Wilmotte & Associés is the biggest building ever constructed in solid wood in Europe in 2016.

CALQ accompanied the development of Quai de la Borde upstream of the project, establishing the financial feasibility and the provisional planning in the design phase, and then provided the Site Management mission during the construction phase.
