The renovation project lasted 7 years without closure. This project, which was very complex in terms of structure and quality of finish, was extremely demanding in terms of the phasing and organisation of the works so as never to disrupt the hotel's activity or the peace of mind of its guests. The aim was to optimise the hotel's profitability by trying to synchronise the booking periods and the phasing of the works.

The work took place on an occupied site in 2 major phases:
1- the renovation of the rooms in 8 phases (grouped by functional units) with removal/protection/work/fitting out
2 - the "public" areas with the creation of temporary premises (for example, one ephemeral spa during the renovation of the wellness area).
All the works, including the very heavy structural works involving structural modifications on all levels, were concealed from customers. The work areas were successively arranged to be invisible. Specific times for "noisy" work were defined with the Technical Department and the means were adapted to reduce the nuisance as much as possible. The living areas were only connected by service corridors/staircases. Deliveries were made via the delivery zones of the hotel's departments in collaboration with the support functions. A large delivery area was created on Rue Pierre 1er de Serbie, hidden by scaffolding and entirely covered with mirror plating.

The renovation of the George V Palace in an occupied site was carried out with great professionalism by CALQ's teams, in close collaboration with the hotel's management.
