CALQ designs a multi-service tertiary eco-campus in wood structure in the middle of a landscaped park in Montigny-le-Bretonneux.
The program includes three office buildings (6-storey to 7-storey) in wooden structure, a service building in wooden structure, including catering spaces (a 980 seat-restaurant open on a large terrace on the ground floor and a contemporary 130 seat-cafeteria, open on a rooftop), and a parking lot with 2 underground levels in concrete and 4 levels in superstructure with wooden posts-beams and concrete floors.
User comfort is at the centre of the design : the wooden structure is exposed, office space is large (3,500 sqm. and 18 m deep) with a ceiling height of 2.70 m and 80% of the area benefit from the first-day lighting.
An alternative food truck type catering service will be envisaged in the campus' private park (to increase the capacity to 1,300 place settings/day).
One of the parking volumes can be reversible to accommodate offices. Solar panels on the roof of the car park will provide part of the hot water.
The facade facings were chosen to blend in with the green environment: zinc-finish cladding, wood panels, and plant support mesh cladding for the car park. The outdoor green spaces have been designed with plantings that promote biodiversity.
